Self-Guided Trails

Be adventurous. Take a leisurely stroll and explore the Gardens on your own – there is always something new to see or discover at the Gardens. Don’t forget to purchase a Cooled Conservatories or Themed-Gardens trail map (available for sale at $1 each) so you can get acquainted with some of the more fascinating plants in our conservatories and outdoor themed gardens.

Phased opening of our attractions

  • Your safety matters. To ensure that Gardens remains a place of wellness that you can enjoy with peace of mind, we will open our attractions in phases. Please refer to the table below for our reopening dates:

The Outdoor Themed Gardens Trail Map features plants from the Heritage Gardens and the World of Plants, like the Pine tree and the Cannonball Tree.


Trail Suggestions

Heritage Route

  • Distance: Approximately 1.4km

    Begin your journey at Bayfront Plaza and learn more about our fascinating World of Plants and share Singapore's diverse history and culture, told through the story of plants at our Heritage Gardens.

1 to 2 hours

  • Flower Dome and Cloud Forest

    • At the Visitor Centre, stop to gaze at our first cluster of Supertrees, the Golden Garden.
    • Head over to the Flower Dome to view unique plants from the Mediterranean and semi-arid subtropical regions such as South Africa and parts of Europe.
    • Stroll towards the connecting Cloud Forest and head up the man-made mountain to see the plants from the Tropical Montane region located between 1,000 to 3,500 metres above sea level.
    • Complete your visit with some attractive souvenirs from the Garden Shop.

2 to 3 hours

  • Flower Dome, Cloud Forest, Supertree Grove and OCBC Skyway

    • Start your journey with a visit to the two Cooled Conservatories, Flower Dome and Cloud Forest.
    • After the Cooled Conservatories, hop onto the Garden Cruiser tram and take a ride through the Themed Gardens, accompanied by informative commentary.
    • Alight at the Supertree Grove and be awed by the main cluster of 12 Supertrees. Go up to the OCBC Skyway and be amazed by the breathtaking view of the Marina Bay skyline.
    • Pop by our Garden Shop for some souvenirs to remember your visit to Gardens by the Bay.

Explorers' Route

  • Distance: Approximately 3.3km

    Embark on a scenic journey through Bay South and be amazed by our award winning cooled conservatories, iconic Supertrees, Dragonfly & Kingfisher lakes and unwind at the tranquil Serene Garden.

2 to 3 hours

  • Heritage Gardens, Supertree Grove, World of Plants, Dragonfly Lake and Kingfisher Lake

    • Start your journey at Heritage Gardens, comprises of four themed gardens - Indian, Chinese, Malay and Colonial.
    • Experience Supertree Grove and be awed by the main cluster of 12 Supertrees. Go up to the OCBC Skyway and be amazed by the breathtaking view of the Marina Bay skyline.
    • Walk to World of Plants for a glimpse at the relationship between plants and planet.
    • Have a leisure stroll along Dragonfly and Kingfisher Lakes to discover the fascinating aquatic ecosystem to end off your day in the outdoors!

3 to 4 hours

  • Flower Dome, Cloud Forest, Heritage Gardens and World of Plants

    • Start your journey with a visit to the two Cooled Conservatories, Flower Dome and Cloud Forest.
    • After the Conservatories, proceed to the Heritage Gardens and explore the Indian, Chinese, Malay and Colonial Gardens to discover how plants are intricately linked to the culture of the main ethnic groups in Singapore.
    • On your way back, stop by the World of Plants and discover the secret life of trees, the complex underground root system and the amazing world of flowers and fruits.
    • Take a break in one of our F&B outlets or head to the Garden Shop for some souvenir shopping before you leave.

More than 4 hours

  • Flower Dome, Cloud Forest, Heritage Gardens, World of Plants, Dragonfly Lake and Supertree Grove

    • At the Visitor Centre, stop to gaze at our first cluster of Supertrees, the Golden Garden.
    • Go on to visit the two Cooled Conservatories, stopping by the magnificent Flower Dome first, followed by a walk around the Cloud Forest.
    • After the Conservatories, take a leisurely stroll in our Heritage Gardens and World of Plants and capture nature's beauty with your camera.
    • Remember to stop by the Dragonfly Lake for a photographic moment and look out for the gorgeous dragonflies as you walk along the boardwalk.
    • Then stroll over to our second cluster of Supertrees, the Silver Garden, to view the amazing mix of grey and silver epiphytes.
    • Before you move on, take a break and relax with a drink or light bite in one of our F&B outlets.
    • Next, head up to one of our iconic Supertrees at Supertree Grove and be awed by the splendid views of the Marina skyline.
    • Complete your visit with some attractive souvenirs from the Garden Shop.
